As I’m sure most of you know, we have thousands upon thousands of brothers and sisters in several districts in Andhra Pradesh who’ve lost their homes and livelihoods in the recent flooding. Sadly, many of these homes belonged to families of humble financial means to begin with. Now those same mothers and fathers have virtually nothing to keep themselves and their loved ones clothed, dry, and warm during these long winter nights while they wait for the waters to recede and their lives to be rebuilt.
I believe it is a moral imperative to help our fellow humans when their most basic of needs have been affected so drastically. With that in mind, we have decided to “adopt” an entire village in one of the most affected areas. |
|
We will be giving to each man one lungi and two tee-shirts; to each woman we will offer two saris. We will also be handing out blankets, Mosquito nets and other essential items.
As soon as we’ve obtained all the materials needed, we are going to go to the village personally, and many of them who have donated are welcome to help us distribute these items among the needy. We will post detailed information soon about the village and the date we will be going. In order to successfully execute our plan, we are collecting donations. |

Every rupee counts and every rupee helps! Your support in organizing and/or distributing is just as valuable. i believe that we as a people do not and should not define ourselves when times are good or life is easy; rather, it is how we conduct ourselves in those darkest and most difficult of days that shapes our character. We are calling this movement as 'Cheyutha'.
If you want to donate money, we will have the account of Sree Vidyanikethan Educational Trust info sent to you. You can send the money to the trust and you will be notified how your money has been spent. The sooner you extend your help, the better. |
