Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering (EIE)
The Department was started in the year 1997 with an annual intake of 30. Subsequently the intake rose to 60. The department got accredited by NBA. This is indicative of the quality education being imparted.
The head of the department is Prof. M.V.Bhavani Sankar who has 14 years' teaching experience.
The faculty of the department are well qualified and reasonably experienced.
Labs are well equipped in tune with AICTE norms. The department has a separate library with 246 titles and 320 volumes, SONET CDs ,technical journals and magazines.
Students of the department are getting placed in reputable companies through campus selection and have been excelling in competitive exams like GRE, TOEFL and GATE.
Through the student technical association, the department is imparting soft skills apart from technical skills to prepare students for placement. Students are encouraged to present papers at technical symposia organized by various engineering colleges. Guest lectures and seminars are being organized for the benefit of the students.
Lab Facilities:
Instrumentation Lab:
In this lab physical parameters like pressure, strain, stress, displacement, temperature, humidity, P H , etc., are measured using different transducers. Compounds in the given sample are analyzed by using Spectrophotometer, GasChromotography, Gas analyzer, flame photometer, Bomb Calorimeter, etc.
Process Control Lab:
In this lab flow rate, level of liquid and temperature are controlled using different controllers. By applying tuning techniques controller parameters are calculated. The characteristics of the different actuators are also studied.
Electronic Devices and Circuits Lab
In this lab students get familiar with electronic components, devices and instruments. Rectifiers, Amplifiers and oscillators are studied.
