The Department of computer Science & Systems Engineering at Sree Vidyanikethan Engineering College was established in the year 1999 with annual intake of 60.
The curriculum is designed to train the students in developing programs (Software) and also designing and developing computing systems (Hardware).
The department has advisory committee with members from industry and academic to suggest add-on-course, bridge course and others to fill the gap between industry and academic so that the students fit in the industry after the degree.
The Department is headed by Prof. C.M. Rao who has 15 years of academic experience with the specialization in Computer Science and Engineering. He obtained B.Tech from Nagarjuna University , M.Tech form Visweswaraya Technological University , Belgum. Currently he is pursuing Ph.D(CSE) from S.V. University . 11 young and dynamic graduates with CSE & CSSE background support the department.
Student Technical Association of the department, Systems Engineers Association (SEA) was inaugurated on 13 th August 2007. Activities of SEA include Seminars, Quiz programs, Paper Contests, Group discussions, Guest Lectures, Debates, Elocution, Essay Writing, Games and Career guidance etc. to improve soft skills like communication skills, presentation skills and interpersonal skills etc. in the students sot that they become more competitive in the job market.
Department is dealing the following laboratories:
1.Computer Systems Maintenance Lab
2.Computer Graphics Lab
3.UNIX Programming and Compiler Design Lab
4.Computer Networks and Operating Systems Lab
5. Web Technologies Lab
Department advisory committee meets twice a year to discuss the various academic matters, which will improve the academic standards of the department.
Surprise checks will be conducted by HOD to the classes in order to increase the seriousness both in the faculty and students.
Assignments will be given in difficult subjects and will be monitored by the faculty.
Extra classes will be conducted for students who are academically weak.
Parents will be intimated about the poor performance of their wards so that counseling will be done from both the sides which may lead to better performance of the student.
