BIO_TECHNOLOGY
The department of Biotechnology was established in 2002 with an intake of 30 and is affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University , Hyderabad . The first batch is in their Third year of four-year undergraduate programme. The department is planning to put effort to increase it to 60 and then to 120 in the near future.
The department in headed by Dr Narayana Murthy Remala, who has good Research and teaching experience and is supported by 08 other faculty members of which 02 are Doctorates with vast experience in Research and Teaching, 05 are Post Graduates and one faculty member is in the final stages of evaluation for the award of Ph. D.
The department is putting efforts to develop necessary infrastructure to make the students well versed in tissue culture techniques - plant and animal, Recombinant DNA technology, Enzyme Engineering and Fermentation technology.
The department is also considering to start M. Tech. programme in Biotechnology in the near future.
