BIO_TECHNOLOGY
The Department of Biotechnology was established in 2002 with an intake of 30 and 3 lateral entries and affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad. The first two batches have completed their course and third batch is in the final year of the four year undergraduate programme. The department is planning to put effort to increase it to 60 in the near future.
The department in headed by Mr. G. Sreenivasulu who has good teaching experience and is supported by 11 other faculty members of which 02 are doctorates with vast experience in Research and teaching, 03 are M.Tech graduates, 02 are B.Tech graduates and 05 are post graduates.
The department is put effort to develop necessary infrastructure to make the students well versed in Plant Tissue Culture techniques, Recombinant DNA technology, Enzyme Engineering, Fermentation Technology and Down stream processing.
The department is also considering to start M.Tech. programme in Biotechnology in the near future.
