Master of Computer Application (MCA)
The Department of Computer Applications was started in 1998 with an objective of producing high quality software professionals. The MCA is a three-year full-time course consisting of six semesters.
The number of seats in MCA Course has been enhanced from 60 to 120, as per the AICTE approval.
The Director of the department is Dr.K.Usha Rani and Head of the Department Mr.E.K.R.Patro with industrial and teaching experience is assisted by 12 faculty members with Post Graduate qualification.
The department has a strong focus on application software development, industry institute interaction, and research and development. In order to bridge the gap between industry and institute, off campus seminars are organized. Software experts from well-known companies visit and deliver guest lectures on current trends in the software industry.
Our students have undertaken live projects in various organizations of repute like NIC, SHAR, Satyam Computers, BHEL, NAL, NRSA, L&T, INFOSYS, TCS, MBT, MPHASIS, CSC and BSNL etc.
One of the highlights of the MCA course is the industrial project of the final semester. This experience of six months fulltime industrial projects invest the students with confidence, knowledge and insight into real-life work situations.
Students Association
Inaugural function of IMAC was inaugurated by Ms.Dr.S.Jyothi, Associate professor,Sree Padmavathi Mahila Viswavidyalam on 18 th August 2007
The students association IMAC ( Intellectual Masters Association of Computers) conducts software competitions, group discussions, paper presentations, aptitude tests and quiz programmes, etc. Which helps the students to enhance their soft skills.
