  Computer Science and Systems Engineering

The The Department of computer Science & Systems Engineering at Sree Vidyanikethan Engineering College was established in the year 1999 with annual intake of 40. In the year 2002 intake has been increased to 60. The curriculum is designed to train the students in developing programs (Software) and also designing and developing computing systems (Hardware). The Department has advisory committee with members from industry and academic to suggest add-on-courses, bridge courses and others to fill the gap between industry and academic so that the students fit in the industry after the degree.

The Department is headed by Prof. C.Madhusudhana Rao who has 16 years of academic experience with the specialization in Computer Science and Engineering. He obtained B.Tech from Nagarjuna University, M.Tech form Visweswaraya Technological University, Belguam. Currently he is pursuing Ph.D(CSE) in S.V. University College of Engineering. Eleven young and dynamic graduates with CSE & CSSE background are supporting the Department .

The department is headed by Prof. C.Madhusudhana Rao who has vast teaching and research experience and is supported by 01 Assistant Professors (SL) and 9 Assistant Professors. Five faculty members are having M. Tech qualification. The rest of the four faculty members are pursuing M.Tech degree .

The department strives to inculcate conceptual and technical skills in students through a scientific teaching methodology based on lectures, case studies, seminars, group discussions, project works, assignments, quiz programs etc. These are well supported by modern teaching aids such as Overhead projector, LCD projector etc

The systematic approach to problem solving is emphasized in the classrooms and laboratories as well as through the course projects and additional computer training beyond the scope of the syllabus. The laboratory exercises are designed to implement the latest software and tools of the industry. Seminars and Guest Lectures are organized periodically for the benefit of students. Students are also encouraged to participate in Technical Symposiums / paper contests conducted by various other organizations. Eminent personalities from various other academic institutions, Research Organizations and Industries, are being invited to deliver expert lectures in certain advanced subjects. Extra classes will be conducted for students who are academically weak. Parents will be intimated about the poor performance of their wards so that counseling will be done from both the sides which may lead to better performance of the student

Program Educational Objectives (PEOs):

  1. To prepare students for successful careers in Software Industry that meet the needs of Indian and Multinational Companies.
