“Bio-Technology – a creative way by which Scientist can use nature to improve human lives”. The field of Bio-Technology is the revolution of the 21st century and it has been elevated to the status of an Engineering discipline. The Department of Bio-Technology was started in the year 2002 with an intake of 30. The department has been striving hard to establish itself as an excellent academic and research ambience. The department is headed by Dr. K.Venkatasubbaiah, who has excellent research and teaching experience and assisted by 11 faculty members.

The department has full pledged assistance and technological feed back for strengthening the areas of Research and Development from Santha Biotech, Hyderabad, Criya Biotech, S.V.University and Sugen Life Sciences, Tirupathi. The Laboratories are well equipped to meet the requirements of Molecular and Genetic Engineering, Instrumentation Methods of Analysis, Immuno-techniques, Plant Tissue culture, Bioprocess Engineering, Bioinformatics, Biochemistry and Microbiology.

Regular counseling and personality development sessions are conducted to explore the hidden talents of the students for improving the visualization, presentation capabilities, communication skills and leadership qualities. The Association of Bio-Technology (ABT) encourages students and faculty to present papers in conferences and seminars and to attend workshops, seminars/conferences and Sports and cultural activities.
