The Department of Computer Applications was started in 1998 with an objective of producing high quality software professionals. MCA is three-year full-time course consisting of six semesters. The number of seats in MCA course has been enhanced from 60 to 120, as per the AICTE approval. The Director of the department is Dr.B.Kavitha and Head of the Department, Mr.E.K.R. Patro. They are assisted by 21 faculty members with Post Graduate qualifications. The department is concentrating more on slow learners to improve their standards and extending hands to help poor students. The department has a strong focus on application software development, industry institute interaction and research. In

order to bridge the gap between industry and institute, off-campus seminars are organized. Software experts from well-known companies visit and deliver guest lectures on current trends in the software industry. Our students have undertaken live projects in various organizations of repute like NIC, SHAR, Satyam Computer Services Ltd, BHEL, NAL, NRSA, L&T, INFOSYS, TCS, MBT, MPHASIS, CSC and BSNL. One of the highlights of the MCA course is the industrial project in final semester. This experience of six months fulltime industrial projects reinforces the students with confidence, knowledge and insight into real-life work situations.
